Ricardo Rosa
Vocals (Musical theatre, ballads, world, contemporary), Piano, Keytar,DJ, MC, Percussion
Born in San Salvador, El Salvador, Ricardo came to Sydney, Australia aged 3.
Ricardo’s love affair with performing arts commenced in his first year of high school, where he landed the lead in the school play!! AND subsequently his music teacher discovered that she had a “boy soprano” within her midst!
After this find, Ricardo participated 4 years in a row at the Sydney Opera House mass Schools choral concert where he had the privilege to perform in such pieces as – Handel’s “Messiah”, Mahlers “Resurrection”, excerpts from John Rutter’s “Requiem”… just to name a few.
Ricardo then went on to land a spot with the SBS youth choir that performed in Sydney & toured in Austria and Germany.
He completed musical theatre studies at TAFE Western Sydney Nirimba-and played the role of ’Harry” in a production of “Company” by Stephen Sondheim.
Ricardo has also had a keen interest in acting (since that first school play!) and went on to act in several short films and completed “Film Production studies” (acting component) at Sydney’s Participate Film Academy, where he landed a supporting role in an 88 min feature film “Green Fire Envy” .
Latin salsa dancing
Having been raised in the western suburbs of Sydney became both a challenge and an opportunity for Ricardo to acknowledge his rich Latin American heritage.
As a young adult, he commenced taking salsa lessons with Marcia Pinheiro Percival, the now Director of the world renowned Sydney Latin Festival. This would commence a new passion and an opportunity to becoming closer to his Latin American roots, having travelled back to his birth country only a few times, once he became confident with this euphoric style of dance, cultural and spiritual growth ensued.
His passion for the creative arts has led him to perform in various venues in Sydney \ Vocalist, pianist, latin dancer, dj-Ricardo lives for the creative arts and artistic flair.
” Through my own personal perseverance, I am now just commencing to utilise my artistic capacity to make an impact in the Australian performing arts industry, I wish for nothing more than to share the sheer beauty of the arts and collaborate with others of like mind, I can safely say the best is yet to come!”
